Mac, who had been battling a rare form of cancer known as Chordoma, passed away on January 5, 2024, marking the end of a challenging five-and-a-half-year fight against the disease.

Mac Sinise joined the Gary Sinise Foundation in February 2017 as the Assistant Manager of Education & Outreach. With his role, Mac was deeply involved in handling and digitizing the foundation’s archive, managing events, tours, and outreach activities, especially for military service members, veterans, first responders, and their families.

Gary expressed his joy at having his son contribute to the foundation’s mission, praising Mac’s engaging personality and dedication to service.

Throughout his battle with cancer, Mac showed remarkable resilience and spirit.
