Florida Governor DeSantis Toughens Stance on Illegal Immigration, Signs Three Bills into Law

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida has taken a hardline stance on illegal immigration, signing three bills aimed at cracking down on undocumented immigrants.

SB 1036 increases penalties for deported individuals caught committing felonies, while HB 1451 prohibits counties from accepting ID cards issued to illegal aliens.

Additionally, HB 1589 raises penalties for driving without a license. DeSantis emphasized Florida’s zero-tolerance policy towards illegal immigration, vowing to uphold the law and protect citizens.

Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nunez and Attorney General Ashley Moody echoed his sentiments, highlighting the state’s efforts to combat the Biden Border Crisis. DeSantis also announced the deployment of additional resources to prevent illegal immigration from Haiti.
