New York Attorney General Moves to Seize Trump Property Amid Legal Battle

New York Attorney General Letitia James has initiated proceedings to seize one of former President Donald Trump’s properties, marking a significant escalation in their legal battle.

James, who campaigned on targeting Trump, aims to seize his assets if he fails to pay the $464 million fine imposed in her civil fraud case.

Registration of the judgment against Trump and his organization makes it easier for James to seize properties like Trump National Golf Club Westchester.

Trump’s attorneys have sought a reduced bond, citing practical impossibility in obtaining the full amount. Legal experts, including former Acting U.S. Attorney General Matt Whitaker, have urged Trump to challenge the fine under the 8th Amendment, predicting its reduction or dismissal.
