Teen Dies After Slamming Into School Bus, Then Police Find What Was In Her Hand

The Panola County community reels from the loss of Katelyn Ray in a tragic school bus crash. The collision, occurring at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, involved Ray’s car rear-ending a South Panola School bus on Highway 15.

Ray’s intended destination was to pick up her sister from work. The heart-wrenching turn of events unfolded amid a routine morning, abruptly ending with Ray’s untimely passing.

Family members, including her mother Shelia Ray and sister Courtney Pettit, recall the last loving exchange with Katelyn, now tragically their final farewell. The community mourns the loss, while the Mississippi Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the devastating accident.
