Appellate Court Alters Trump’s Fate in Civil Fraud Case: Reduced Fine and Renewed Business Operations

New York Attorney General Letitia James faced setbacks from the appellate court on March 25 regarding the civil fraud case against former President Donald Trump, his sons, and Trump Organization executives.

The court extended Trump’s deadline to pay the fine by ten days and reduced it from $464 million to $175 million. Trump can now run the Trump Organization and obtain loans from New York banks, previously prohibited for three years.

Despite the win, a court-ordered monitor remains. Trump plans to cover the $175 million sum and continues to criticize the ruling on his social media platform, Truth Social, alleging political bias.
