New Yorkers Confront Suspect in Fatal Shooting of NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller

Amid a perp walk in Far Rockaway, Queens, New Yorkers confronted Lindy Jones, one of the men charged in the fatal shooting of NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller.

Diller was gunned down during a routine traffic stop. While Jones faces weapon-related charges, no charges have been announced for the suspected shooter, Guy Rivera.

Shouts from bystanders emphasized the tragic loss, with references to Diller’s bereaved family. Diller’s brother-in-law, Jonathan McAuley, mourned his passing on Facebook, urging officers to remain vigilant.

McAuley vowed to support Diller’s son and emphasized the irreplaceable void left by the fallen officer. NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban hailed Diller’s service, expressing condolences to his family and colleagues.
