Federal Judge Rejects Hunter Biden’s Bid to Dismiss Tax Charges

A federal judge in California has dismissed Hunter Biden’s attempts to dismiss his tax charges, rejecting his claim of political motivation.

Judge Mark Scarsi ruled against Hunter’s assertions, citing lack of substantial evidence beyond hearsay. Despite arguments of IRS misconduct, including testimony by whistleblowers, the judge found no clear evidence of discriminatory intent.

Hunter faces charges of tax evasion and filing false returns, with allegations of failing to pay $2 million in taxes from overseas business dealings.

Special Counsel David Weiss, appointed in 2023, oversees the case, which also involves scrutiny of Hunter’s associates and their connections to President Joe Biden. Previous plea negotiations collapsed due to defense opposition.
