Dance Team Barred from Wearing American Flag Attire at Competition

The Borderline Dance Team from Washington faced controversy when told they couldn’t wear American flag-themed attire during a performance at the Emerald City Hoedown in Seattle.

Organizers cited concerns that the patriotic shirts could make some attendees feel “triggered and unsafe,” particularly mentioning issues related to Palestine and the trans community.

Despite the ultimatum to change outfits or not perform at all, the team unanimously chose to keep their patriotic clothing.

In a Facebook post, they emphasized the importance of freedom and expressed disappointment at being barred from displaying their patriotism due to the objections of a few.
