Rob Reiner’s Political Film ‘God & Country’ Falters at Box Office

Rob Reiner’s latest film, “God & Country: The Rise Of Christian Nationalism,” faced a disappointing box office performance, with an opening weekend gross of just over $38,000 across 85 theaters.

Despite a 91% favorable rating from liberal critics on Rotten Tomatoes, the film’s themes critiquing Christian nationalism appear to have alienated a significant portion of the audience.

The movie’s political focus and controversial stance seem to have deterred potential viewers. Reiner’s past successes like “The Bucket List” have been overshadowed by his recent films, which oscillate between inspirational tales and political messages.

His approach risks alienating a large segment of the American population, including supporters of President Trump and Christian voters, due to its divisive content.
