Whistleblowers Claim Trump was Ready to Deploy National Guard During Capitol Protests

Whistleblowers from the Washington D.C. National Guard are set to testify to Congress that then-President Donald Trump was prepared to deploy them during the 2021 Capitol protests.

They claim the deployment was delayed by the Army, contradicting the January 6 Committee’s testimony.

According to the Daily Mail, these officers will tell a House subcommittee that their accounts were dismissed by the partisan January 6 Committee. They assert that then-acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller approved the deployment under Trump’s direction.

Furthermore, they’ll state that then-Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy delayed notifying D.C. National Guard Commander William Walker by at least two hours. The witnesses believe their testimonies were sidelined as the Committee prioritized targeting Trump over enhancing future event preparedness.
