Squatters Take Over Gordon Ramsay’s London Gastropub
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s London gastropub, the York and Albany near Regent’s Park, has been occupied by squatters.
A group of six individuals has barricaded themselves inside, posting a legal notice asserting their right to the property.
They claim the building, not zoned residential, is exempt from anti-squatting laws. The notice warns against forced entry, threatening potential prosecution and imprisonment.
The squatters aim to transform the space into an art cafe. London police consider the issue a civil matter and have not intervened. Ramsay and his restaurant group have yet to comment on the situation.
