Senator Vance Counters Tapper’s Claims on Trump’s Foreign Policy

Senator JD Vance (R-OH) pushed back against CNN anchor Jake Tapper’s portrayal of former President Donald Trump’s foreign policy during a “State of the Union” appearance.

Tapper suggested Trump was soft on Russia, citing a conversation with Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) where both Vance and Trump were labeled as pro-Russia over Ukraine stances.

Vance countered by highlighting Trump’s tough actions against Russia, like attacking Russian Wagner Group contractors in Syria.

Vance emphasized Trump’s “peace through strength” approach, arguing Putin was more restrained under Trump. Tapper claimed Trump was overly friendly to Putin, but Vance defended Trump’s strategic deterrence, asserting it prevented conflicts like Ukraine.
