Scrutiny Mounts for Fulton County DA Fani Willis Over Fiscal Practices and Trump Case

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis faces scrutiny over her office’s handling of taxpayer funds.

A report by Cherry Bekaert highlighted “high-risk” practices in procurement, noting purchases like gun holsters and office supplies bypassed proper channels.

Willis’ ex-lover, Nathan Wade, resigned after receiving around $700,000 for work on a case against Donald Trump. Despite challenges, a state judge upheld Willis’ role in the case, now under appeal by Trump’s lawyers. The report’s findings stand out as the county generally has low purchasing risk.

Additionally, the Department of Justice found “inconsistencies” in Willis’ federal fund reporting, subject to a U.S. House investigation led by Rep. Jim Jordan. Willis has defended her office’s integrity, accusing the investigation of political bias and claiming threats against her and her team.
