Texas Appeals Court Clears Sidney Powell of Professional Misconduct Charges

Sidney Powell, the attorney known for her defense of Donald Trump’s 2020 election fraud claims, has been cleared of professional misconduct charges by the Fifth District of Texas Court of Appeals.

The three Democratic judges unanimously ruled that the allegations by the State Bar of Texas lacked merit.

Powell gained prominence for challenging the 2020 election results, claiming widespread fraud. Her legal team stated that after three years of litigation, the court found no evidence Powell violated disciplinary rules in her post-election lawsuits.

The State Bar of Texas had accused Powell of violating professional conduct rules due to her election challenges. The court’s decision affirmed the trial court’s dismissal, concluding the Bar’s arguments were without merit.
