Attorney Sidney Powell Cleared of Misconduct Charges by Texas Appeals Court

Sidney Powell, the attorney who defended Donald Trump’s 2020 election fraud claims, has been cleared of professional misconduct charges by the Fifth District of Texas Court of Appeals.

The panel, including three Democratic judges, unanimously dismissed the State Bar of Texas’s allegations against her.

Powell gained prominence for challenging the election results and claiming widespread fraud. Her team stated, “The Court of Appeals held the Bar had no evidence Powell violated any disciplinary rule in her post-election lawsuits.”

The court concluded that the Bar’s accusations lacked merit, emphasizing no evidence of Powell knowingly using false statements or fraudulent evidence. Last year, Powell admitted to misdemeanor conspiracy charges related to election interference but received a lenient sentence of probation and fines.
