Judge Rebukes NY Attorney General James in Trump Case

New York Attorney General Letitia James faced criticism from a state judge after attempting to challenge a $175 million civil bond in the real estate case against former President Donald Trump.

An appeals court upheld the bond, rejecting James’ claim about the underwriting company’s financial capability.

The court specified the bond must be in cash and under the control of Night Insurance. Despite initially seeking $454 million, James’ judgment against Trump has been significantly reduced on appeal.

Critics argue that James’ pursuit appears politically motivated, with her previous campaign promises targeting Trump. Some legal experts and observers believe such aggressive pursuit is backfiring, potentially bolstering Trump’s political standing.
