Rocket Attack Hits US-led Coalition Base in Syria

A rocket launched from Iraq struck a US-led military coalition base in Syria.

Two Iraqi security sources and a US official confirmed the attack, which occurred after Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s unsuccessful meeting with President Biden.

Kataib Hezbollah, an Iraqi militant group, claimed responsibility, vowing to resume attacks due to US forces’ presence. While more than five rockets were launched, no casualties were reported.

A retaliatory airstrike targeted the rocket launcher in Zummar. This incident follows a recent explosion at an Iraqi military base and threats from Iraqi militia leaders against US troops. Amid escalating tensions, the White House has remained silent on the attacks.
