FIRST PUBLIC STATEMENT FROM PRINCE WILLIAM ON HIS WIFE AND FATHER, KING CHARLES

LONDON, Feb 7 (Reuters) – Prince William thanked the British public for their kind messages about his wife Kate following her surgery and his father King Charles after his cancer diagnosis as he resumed official duties on Wednesday.

William, 41, expressed gratitude, saying, “It means a great deal to us all.” At a gala dinner for London’s Air Ambulance Charity, he humorously remarked on needing a break from medical issues.

With Kate recovering and King Charles undergoing treatment, William and Queen Camilla are handling royal duties. Prince Harry returned to the U.S. after briefly visiting their father. Despite his diagnosis, Charles plans to continue much of his private work as monarch.
