Military Veteran Is Honored At Basketball Game – Then He Sees Something That Brings Him To His Knees

Retired U.S. Army First Class Sergeant Luciano Yulfo was recently honored at a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden.

During the game, the team’s Hoops For Troops program surprised him with a gift he never expected. After serving 36 years in the military and retiring in 2014 due to injuries sustained in Afghanistan, Yulfo applied for a service dog and waited 18 months.

The Knicks heard his story and, between quarters, presented him with a personalized jersey and a service dog named Murphy from Paws of War. Overwhelmed, Yulfo knelt to greet his new companion, marking the start of a lifelong friendship.
