The Solo Journey at 77: Balancing Adventure and Family Expectations

When I shared my travel plans, my son’s response was discouraging: “Mom, you’re too old to travel alone. It’s reckless and dangerous.” He even suggested I use the money for my granddaughter’s tuition instead.

This shook my confidence and made me question whether I was being selfish. After much reflection and advice from friends, I realized my desire to travel wasn’t selfish but a celebration of the freedom I’ve earned.

I decided to go on the trip, finding a balance between supporting my family and fulfilling my personal goals. This journey isn’t just about seeing new places; it’s about embracing life, regardless of age, and proving that our dreams are always worth pursuing.
