TRAGIC END for this legend

Famous musician Frank Ifield, who helped the Beatles get started, has died at 86. Known for his hits like “I Remember You” in the 1960s, Ifield passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday. Born in the UK and raised in Australia, he moved back to England in 1959 and quickly rose to fame.

Ifield, who loved yodeling and country music, released 44 records in six years and was a top-selling artist in Australia, New Zealand, and Tasmania. He also introduced The Beatles to fans after returning to the UK.

In 1986, a surgery for pneumonia affected his vocal cords, pausing his career. He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2005 for his contributions to entertainment. He is survived by his wife Myra and their two children.
