My In-Laws Keep Leaving Me Out of Dinners, So I Taught Them a Lesson

I (F26) went on a family trip with my in-laws two weeks ago. My mother-in-law thinks I’m “ignorant” and “uncultured” because I come from a lower-class family, and she believes I lack manners.

When we arrived at the hotel, my husband told me last minute about a fancy dinner with his family, but I wasn’t invited. His mom assumed I wouldn’t know how to act at such a place, so I should stay at the hotel instead. I didn’t argue; I packed my bags and flew home.

My husband was furious and called me nonstop, accusing me of being unreasonable and embarrassing him. When he got home, he gave me the silent treatment, and his family posted indirect comments about me on Facebook.
