Sally Field’s worst on-screen in her decades-long career might be a surprise to most

I’ve always admired Sally Field, a legendary 76-year-old actress with a long history of on-screen romances. Over her career, she’s shared many TV kisses, but she recently revealed her worst one during a Dec. 1 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

To everyone’s surprise, Field named Burt Reynolds, her ex-boyfriend and co-star from Smokey and the Bandit. She explained that their on-screen chemistry didn’t translate, calling the kiss underwhelming, even mentioning Reynolds’ “drooling.”

Field and Reynolds dated for nearly five years after meeting in 1977. Despite his regrets over their relationship, Field shared she hadn’t spoken to him in the last 30 years of his life before his passing at 82.

Field’s career spans many iconic roles, from Steel Magnolias to Forrest Gump, and she continues acting, most recently in Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty in 2022. Despite her challenges, including a difficult childhood and personal struggles, she remains a humble and beloved figure in Hollywood.
