Heartwarming Stories

Yesterday, my 5-year-old daughter came home from daycare and broke her piggy bank. She said she saw the cleaning lady, an older woman, crying in the kitchen. Then she heard the teachers saying that the owners had raised the cleaning lady’s rent, and she didn’t have money to pay it. My daughter didn’t understand the money amounts but thought her piggy bank could help.

My husband gave her the money back, bought a new piggy bank, and said he would handle it. He went to the daycare, talked to the cleaning lady, and found out she was raising her 7-year-old grandson alone. They rented a place in the city so the boy could go to school. So my husband suggested she live in one of our apartments.

We weren’t renting it out anyway. It was an old apartment my husband inherited from his grandmother, and he didn’t want tenants. But he was happy to let this lady live there. She was very thankful because now she didn’t have to worry about rent, and it would be easier for her and her grandson. I’m really proud of my kind daughter and my wonderful husband.
