Political scientist Mel Witte was surprised as she began looking into Letitia James’ financial report during the last week of February.
New York Attorney General Letitia James recently “won” a $454 million ruling against former president Donald Trump.
James began her career as NY AG in 2018 and was later re-elected in 2022. She served as a “public advocate” in NYC for four years and as a NYC city council member for eight years.
Witte wasn’t expecting much as she thinks James has long served as a public official.
However, upon looking into the New York AG’s expenditures, she was left speechless.
In 2023 alone, the New York AG has spent $28,500 on hotels, with more than half of that going to a luxury hotel in Puerto Rico. During her five years as the state AG, James splurged $84,000 for airfare across the country, including renting a private jet.
