6 Reasons I Don’t Drink Anymore

Over six years ago, I had my last drink. I didn’t quit to make a moral stand or because of religion.

I quit because alcohol and I were no good together, leading to shame and reckless behavior. I hated myself when I drank, despite having a life I loved. I wanted to like myself full-time, so I stopped.

Now, I enjoy waking up in my own bed, keeping my house tidy, running, reading, being a parent, and simply not wanting to drink anymore. My recovery gave me myself back.
