The Unexpected Birthday Surprise

On my 80th birthday, I drove to surprise my daughter. When she opened the door, she looked nervous and said, “Dad, what are you doing here?” I told her I just wanted to be with her for my birthday, but she insisted I leave because she was busy.

As I walked back to my car, I heard noises inside and saw two strangers through the window. Concerned, I called the police. They arrived quickly and arrested the intruders. My daughter, in tears, hugged me, explaining they had broken in just before I arrived. She was trying to protect me.

We spent the rest of the day together, making it a birthday I’ll never forget.
