This legendary actress never wanted a funeral, memorial, or grave marking

Legendary actress and singer Doris Day, who passed away at 97, was a major star during Hollywood’s Golden Age. Known for her roles in nearly 30 films and over 650 songs, she was also a dedicated animal rights activist.

Despite her fame, Day requested no funeral, memorial, or grave marker, preferring her ashes be scattered. Her close friend and manager, Bob Bashara, explained that Day struggled with death and was a very private person. Raised Catholic and later a Christian Scientist, Day remained spiritual but shied away from organized religion after her husband’s death. Her estate was donated to charity.
