Caitlyn Jenner Backs Nassau County’s Ban on Transwomen in Female Sports

Former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner voiced support for a Nassau County policy banning transwomen from female sports teams in county-owned facilities, impacting over 100 sites in NYC’s Long Island suburbs.

In a joint statement with Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman (R), Jenner emphasized the importance of preserving women’s sports under Title IX, citing potential harm and unfair competition.

While an LGBT advocacy group disagreed, Jenner stressed biological differences and the need to compete in one’s birth sex for fair competition. Legal challenges, including a lawsuit from the NYCLU and criticism from State Attorney General Letitia James, have emerged, but Blakeman remains firm in protecting girls’ sports integrity.
