Texas Begins Construction of Historic Floating Border Barrier to Curb Illegal Crossings

Construction commenced on a groundbreaking floating border barrier in Eagle Pass, Texas, aimed at deterring illegal crossings along the Rio Grande.

With numerous immigrant fatalities in the river, safety concerns prompted the initiative. Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez shared videos of crews installing buoys, authorized by Gov. Greg Abbott and funded by the Texas Legislature.

The barriers not only aim to curb illegal immigration but also to prevent further tragedies. Amidst the surge of migrants, these measures are crucial in safeguarding lives and securing the border.
