Owen Wilson Rejects Role in Controversial O.J. Simpson Film

Actor Owen Wilson reportedly declined a $12 million offer to star in “The Juice,” a movie portraying O.J. Simpson as innocent, labeling the concept as “crazy.”

Directed by British filmmaker Joshua Newton, the satirical thriller challenges the belief in Simpson’s guilt for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

Despite Wilson being deemed “perfect” for the role of attorney Douglas McCann, he rejected the project outright. Newton, undeterred, found a replacement but kept the actor’s identity undisclosed.

With 30 minutes already completed, Newton aims for an October 3 release, coinciding with the 29th anniversary of Simpson’s acquittal. Simpson’s recent death and tumultuous legal history add further intrigue to the film’s context.
